What have you seen on social media? Bibs that cost £20, bowls that cost £15, food processors that cost £70? It is adding up isn't it?
You thought you had just paid off the buggy, the nursery furniture and the car seat!
It doesn't have to be that expensive.
A bib can be replaced with some old clothes put over their clothes (or a simple plastic bib for a few pounds.
You can use any unbreakable bowl or even a plastic container as long as it doesn't have any sharp edges (check it is microwave safe before using it in the microwave though!).
And to replace a food processor - a fork will do. If you want to go for something more high tech, a simple hand blender will do which you can pick up in lots of supermarkets.
And that's all before you get to the food! You don't have to buy ready made food. You can buy a whole bag of carrots for the price of a pouch. Check out the weaning group for lots more tips on budget weaning.
