Dr. Mel is a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and the owner of Louisiana Pelvic Health in Houma, LA.She works exclusively with the pelvic floor and women&#39;s health population and has attended multiple specialist trainings for pelvic floor and fertility. She focuses on pelvic floor problems, including pregnancy, postpartum, pain with sex, endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, and bladder, and bowel issues. She also specializes in cycle charting and using the menstrual cycle as a diagnostic to Her love of addressing the body holistically and the difficulty she had finding specialized care for her own pelvic pain is what drives her to do this work. She knows that many women are not asking for the help that they should be and are not preparing for conception, birth, or postpartum.A lack of preparedness is shown clearly in the evidence to lead to more interventions, not understanding what decisions are being made, and not practicing in your body to be set up to take the most control of your labor and birth that you can.
