The joy of meeting interesting people

I don't know about you, but during the pandemic, I have really missed the randomness of meeting interesting people on nights out, social occasions and (dare I say it...) networking events.

Virtual has kept some kind of interaction going, and it's been a Godsend for work (imagine what life would have been like if this pandemic had happened before the internet...I think we'd all be back in medieval times...)

But again, the spontaneity and excitement of meeting people has definitely diminished and been a loss to me.

The good news is that things are returning to normal, and I can't wait to catch up with friends, family, and people I haven't seen for years - plus there's definitely some urgency there now to not take things for granted and make the most of each day and get out.

One saving grace for me through this pandemic has been the GoSolo Show Podcast that I host most weeks, and the variety of guests we have on really keep me on my toes and keep the conversation fresh and natural.

This week we taped episode 18, with Craig Seaton - spiritual breathwork and meditation master and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

It'll drop in a couple of weeks, but overall it was just such a nice experience chatting with someone with such a unique and refreshing perspective on life.

The same goes for all the other 18 guests I've had on the show so far - from chefs to yogis, consultants, coaches, and interior designers. Everyone has started a business in the past few years, but they all have such interesting tales and ways of approaching life - so inspiring!

The reason I'm writing today's post is that I came out of this podcast taping with Craig so refreshed and energised.

It was just really enjoyable to chat about new and interesting topics for an hour, learning new things, and being challenged in deep conversation.

So whilst I aim to host at least 180 episodes of the podcast, even in "real life" after the pandemic, I want to hunt out more people from unique industries, life situations, and perspectives to keep my mind and life fresh.

Food, drink, new conversations - sounds good to me!

If you're keen to meet new people then let me know how you get on - how have you approached them, where did you meet and what did you learn?

Did people think you were weird for striking up random conversations or approaching people online for a meet, or have you found a natural way of meeting new future friends?

Answers on a postcard or you can just reply to this email 😀

Have a great weekend everyone, keep winning!

Jonny
