It’s easy to feel calm and quiet when you are in such peaceful, beautiful surroundings. It can be harder in daily life to focus and find calm through the constant noise from your surroundings, your phone, your emails and just BE.
Your weekly yoga practice can be a great way to find this calm, as can meditation. If you feel a bit unsure about meditation and the idea stresses you out (am I ‘zen’ enough? What if I can’t do it? How can I just sit still? 😆) here is a simple meditation for you to try. 12 minutes, sitting by yourself focusing on your breath and your body.
There is no right or wrong way to give yourself this feeling of calm and quiet, but there are lots of benefits: feeling more focused, less stressed and sleeping better. Meditation is a great way to tap into the rest and digest function of your nervous system, responsible for repairing your body and brain from the stresses of daily life.
Don’t put any pressure on yourself to do it ‘right’, just give it a go! I promise you will feel better at the end of the meditation than when you started 🌟
